To make fisheries systems more resilient and secure livelihoods for people that depend on them, improved fisheries governance is needed. The course gives insights into governance processes and provides practical ways to reduce vulnerability. You will boost your skills to help stakeholders learn together in building resilient fisheries communities.
Upon completion of the course you will:
- know the potential of fisheries for food and nutrition security and challenges undermining this;
- understand fisheries governance concepts and explore ways to strengthen them;
- understand the importance of stakeholder engagement in governance;
- be able to apply participatory methodologies and tools in support of the fisheries management planning process;
